Fluffy, snarky and easily-digestible fare that was just the kick in the pants I needed to see a particularly challenging project through to the end。 As someone who has gone through NLP and life coach training, it wasn’t anything new exactly, but I still appreciated the overall message and sailed through it in a couple days。If you’re looking for a breezy book to raise your spirits and motivate you to leave your comfort zone, this is the ticket。

Really enjoyed this book

The title of this book is horrible and I likely would have avoided it based on the title but someone in my book club piqued my interest so I loaded it on my phone as an audiobook。 There really aren’t many nuts and bolts directions included in this book but essentially it is a good kick in the rear, big-picture book to stop letting your mental roadblocks hold you back。 I do agree 100% that your mindset can absolutely change your life。 What story are you telling yourself? What mantras are constantly in your mind? You can create your own reality, for good or bad, based on your thought-life。 So I give this book three stars for doing a good job articulating that。 There were some things in this book that made me pause, especially when the author said buying the luxury car she couldn’t afford was a good move。 Back to the theme of the book, yes, it helped her change her mindset to “own” a luxury car, which then changed things for her。 BUT I still don’t think you should buy things you can’t afford, which will go badly for most people, but work on your mindset first。 。。。more

After "Subtle Art of not giving a f*ck", this is the best self-help book I have read。 No BS romaing around for pages to get to the point at the end。 Short, concise and to-the-point that hits you and you can add these idea in your life (believe me I have already started on that process)。 After "Subtle Art of not giving a f*ck", this is the best self-help book I have read。 No BS romaing around for pages to get to the point at the end。 Short, concise and to-the-point that hits you and you can add these idea in your life (believe me I have already started on that process)。 。。。more

Lost me less than halfway through。 Way too much new age spirituality for my taste。

This is my 4th time reading this book and it will always be my favorite。 Every time I read it I find something new that resonates with me at that time。 In some ways it’s just a basic self help book but I think it’s the perfect mix of telling it how it is and also showing how she’s made the same mistakes in the past and how’s she’s learned from it。

Regina

Great audiobook, light listening but strong messages。

Probably one of the best books I’ve ever read, and I would not have picked it up if numerous people had not recommended it。 The self help book for people who don’t like self help。 Sincero is hilarious。

Was super turned off for years because of the corny title & cover, but truly a solid solid solid self-help book。 Jen's funny, clear & very deliberate in how she gets her points across - definitely more entertaining than most others of this genre。 I gleaned some very big & important points from her that I know will help me。 Def a major rec for anyone open to this kind of info/book! This book is fun。 If you haven’t read a self-help book before, it’s a very approachable introduction。 If you are familiar, there’s not too much groundbreaking here。 Though Sincero’s witty humor is a reprieve from many denser, philosophical pieces in this genre。 If nothing else, it’s a good kick in the ass to get moving and start living your best life。

pretty good book that can change you, for real!

Jenna

Although I liked some of what she said in the book, it seemed like I was reading someone’s journal? I guess I preferred James Clear’s (Atomic Habits) and Simon Sinek’s (Start With Why) way of writing。 The title is like a clickbait。

Loved the truth bombs that Jen drops each chapter。 She keeps its real。 If you are needing a good kick in the butt, this is it!

There are some really great concepts in this book but it is so conversationally cringe that I just couldn’t –

3。5 stars。 "God will not have his work made manifest by cowards"Chapters 25 and 26 really got to me and had me hyped up。 The problem with that? Overall I think this is a valuable book but there are some howevers。 1) This book doesn't take mental health/mental illness into consideration at ALL。 If you want to do something, manifest it and stop being a lazy cow with a victim mentality, is essentially what is being offered here。 2) The occasional affectation of a blaccent (audiobook) was very annoying。3) If you are well versed in the self-improvement genre, there is nothing here that will be a new concept to you。 In fact it has all the tro Overall I think this is a valuable book but there are some howevers。 1) This book doesn't take mental health/mental illness into consideration at ALL。 If you want to do something, manifest it and stop being a lazy cow with a victim mentality, is essentially what is being offered here。 2) The occasional affectation of a blaccent (audiobook) was very annoying。3) If you are well versed in the self-improvement genre, there is nothing here that will be a new concept to you。 In fact it has all the tropes, all the quotes, all the concepts of manifestation, Eckhart Tolle, habits, mantras etc。 Where I think this book is valuable is IN the reiteration of all these concepts in one place and the extra encouragement to dive in。 If you know your issues aren't due to mental health issues, this may be a great book for you because you may need someone to tell you to get off your ass and start tackling things。 Overall I'm glad I read the book, I did get some useful reminders out of it and I would recommend it for newbies to self-help or people who need extra encouragement。 。。。more

I hated this book lmao, I only read it bc everyone keeps talking about it。 Don’t get me wrong I’m very into self help, but this book does not even give you concrete stuff to work with。 Anyways, that’s not what bothers me。 What I truly don’t like is this mentality that if you truly want something you are going to get it and that all you need is a good mindset。 Do I have to explain how ridiculously privileged is to have that mindset? I guess poor ppl are poor bc they want to then🤷🏽‍♀️It would be n I hated this book lmao, I only read it bc everyone keeps talking about it。 Don’t get me wrong I’m very into self help, but this book does not even give you concrete stuff to work with。 Anyways, that’s not what bothers me。 What I truly don’t like is this mentality that if you truly want something you are going to get it and that all you need is a good mindset。 Do I have to explain how ridiculously privileged is to have that mindset? I have a lot of issues with this book。 I like that she encourages you to believe in yourself but not with how she encourages you to do it。 I read this book looking for advice on how to believe in myself and be more positive about myself。 I liked that she encourages writing and saying affirmations to yourself and treat yourself as you would a friend as a way to believe in yourself。 I don’t agree with the manifest part though。 There are situations where no matter how much you believe or desire som I have a lot of issues with this book。 I like that she encourages you to believe in yourself but not with how she encourages you to do it。 I read this book looking for advice on how to believe in myself and be more positive about myself。 I liked that she encourages writing and saying affirmations to yourself and treat yourself as you would a friend as a way to believe in yourself。 I don’t agree with the manifest part though。 There are situations where no matter how much you believe or desire something it’s not just going to land in your lap。 I personally have an issue with fully believing something is going to happen, expecting it to happen, and then surprise, it doesn’t happen。 That sets me up for disappointment and I don’t like to be disappointed so I don’t fully believe something until evidence comes along to change my mind。 I was hoping for more from this book and didn’t really get it。 Sincero is a good writer but her most ideas were too far fetched for me。 。。。more

The author is Very funny! Enjoyable and easy to read。 It doesn’t have a magic wound although reminds that you already have what you need to be a “badass” and hey, reminders like “love your self” are always worth it。

It appears that decent marketing and catchy buzz words can sell books even when the writing is lousy and the ideas are illogical and unoriginal。
